Our experienced optometrists use the latest technology to provide you with a thorough evaluation of your eye health and visual system to ensure optimal vision and comfort in today’s demanding environments. We will determine whether you need corrective lenses and if so, your exact prescription strength so that we can fit you with the appropriate specialty eyewear and help you pick out the most flattering pair of glasses for your face shape and skin tone.
Our new patient appointments always begin with a comprehensive eye exam. Periodic eye and vision examinations are an important part of preventive health care. Many eye and vision problems have no obvious signs or symptoms and as a result, individuals are often unaware that problems exist. Early diagnosis and treatment of eye and vision problems are important for maintaining good vision and eye health, and when possible, preventing vision loss.
Our doctors can diagnose and treat eye diseases and identify general eye health problems including but not limited to glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, diabetes, anemia, high blood pressure, and others.
Adult Eye Exams
Our Adult Eye Exams use advanced technology to provide our patients with the most thorough exam and accurate prescriptions possible. Examinations are fully digital and provide our patients with a unique and modern exam experience offering Photographic and 3-Dimensional Retinal Imaging. Contact lens patients enjoy the benefits of corneal topography mapping to achieve the best contact lens fit, comfort and vision possible.
We provide our Senior patients with ample time to get the most out of their experience at a pace that is comfortable for them. We offer Retinal Photography and 3-Dimensional retinal imaging to help with earlier detection of conditions such as Age-Related Macular Degeneration and Glaucoma. Dr. Akerman has several years experience working exclusively with Seniors in Arizona, where one of his clinics was located in Sun City - “Where your parents’ parents (AKA ‘Super Seniors’) go to retire!”
SENIOR’S EYE EXAMS
We give each of our patients the time that they need to complete their exam in comfort and at their own pace - Dr. Akerman has extensive experience in medical management and surgical co-management from his years working alongside ophthalmologists in a hospital setting in the United States so he has the experience to understand the needs of our senior patients. We have all of the equipment necessary to diagnose conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration and we offer Retinal Photography and 3-Dimensional Retinal Imaging to provide the earliest detection possible for these conditions and give our patients the best chance at a lifetime of good vision.
